Our Why
Here at Lean In Ministries, we are driven by Christ's Great Commission where He tells us in Matthew 28:19-20 to "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Our desire is to take the saving gospel of Jesus Christ to the unreached, wherever that may be, and to make disciples in His name.
Where We Serve
Lean In Ministries trains, equips, and sends short-term mission teams to places such as the Amazon jungles of Peru and South Asia. We also support vetted ministry partners and projects that day in and day out further the gospel and our ministry purpose of evangelism and discipleship.
Amazon Jungles of Peru
Short-term mission teams travel twice a year deep into the Amazon jungle to share the gospel and disciple believers among the remote, indigenous Urarina tribe that lives along the Chambira River, a tributary of the Maronon River, which is a tributary of the Amazon River. Once a year, a team also serves alongside some of our ministry partners in the city of Iquitos, Peru, through ministries such as drug hole, prison, nursing home, hospice facility, drug rehab, children's home, and children's ministry. Whether we are deep in the Amazon jungle or serving in the city of Iquitos, our missional purpose and focus is the same . . . evangelism and discipleship. We share the gospel, disciple and encourage existing believers, engage the children through Bible stories and play, trade with the women (jungle), have intentional teaching times, layering upon what has been taught on past trips, and more as the Lord leads. South Asia
Short-term mission teams travel twice a year to South Asia to serve alongside our existing ministry partners with the purpose of evangelism and discipleship. In the forest/jungle region, teams serve alongside a missions catalyst who runs an English school in a very impoverished area. He and his school not only minister to the students but also to their families and surrounding indigenous population and villages. In a remote, mountainous region, teams also serve alongside a church planter and pastor who currently pastors four churches, trains up leaders, equips disciples, and runs a small English school that serves a very impoverished area that has no access to education. Teams in both areas share the gospel with the lost as well and disciple and encourage existing believers. Depending on the area, teams participate in such ministry efforts as school support, teacher trainings, going door to door in different villages, leading pastoral and church leadership conferences, church planting efforts, and more as the Lord leads.
